Sleep solutions - you need the right tool (& it may not be melatonin!)

Sleeping issues suck.

No one wants to be tired and dragging, depending on coffee to try to make it through the day. There’s also long term risks from lack of sleep which can increase the risk of developing diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression, to name a few.

So, since I’ve never seen a patient come into my office saying their goal is to have sleeping issues or diabetes or depression (or anything else from that list above), we definitely want to make sure that restful & refreshing sleep is happening!

When it comes to sleep issues, we need to figure out the problem area (or areas).

Question 1: What’s the issue?

Are you struggling to fall asleep?

Are you struggling to stay asleep?

Are you feeling like you didn’t get any sleep when you wake up in the morning, despite actually getting a full night’s sleep? (This is known as “unrefreshing sleep”)

Question 2: Is it one issue or are there a couple issues?

Why are these questions important? Because different issues can point to different areas requiring support due to different causes.

When we know what the problem area (or areas) are, we can make sure we provide the best support for you to get you sleeping. For example, if you’re having issues feeling like you didn’t get any sleep even after a full night of sleep, melatonin isn’t going to be the right tool to reach for.

The key to good sleep support is knowing where the issue is and matching that with the right tool, whether it’s a supplement, nutrition support, lifestyle support or even a combination of different tools!

When you’re struggling with sleep issues, I know you need to get feeling better as quickly as possible to be able to actually function.  Unfortunately, the world doesn’t stop just because you’re not getting good sleep!

There is so much information on the internet, and while that can be helpful, it can also be super confusing. A LOT of people come into my office and have tried melatonin, only to be frustrated when it didn’t work. It’s not to say that melatonin is a crappy option, it just wasn’t the right sleep tool for THEM.

So, if you’re tired of being tired and DIY-ing your sleeping issues and are ready for some strategic support, I’m ready when you are!

Wishing you wonderful sleep!
